BWLO: Breakfast for school?

We just did the orientation for Landon's new school (he's been on the waiting list since Sept, this place doesn't take them until they are a year old), and they said that we have to bring breakfast. They will feed it to him, but we have to supply it.

They also give him morning snack, hot lunch, and afternoon snack (they supply those).

Any suggestions for quick things to bring for him?

Re: BWLO: Breakfast for school?

  • My kid is a super picky eater so take it as you will, but he likes cinnamon toast waffles (they are 4 little squares they can tear apart- no syrup needed), mini pancakes from sam's club that are maple flavored (no syrup needed), yogurt- especially the "sticks" he can feed himself, oatmeal packets, fruit cups, fruit squeezers (gerber, earth's best), baby granola bars, and that's about it. All is super easy and quick but kind of redundant. I would get tired of eating the same thing all the time!
  • Jane eats yogurt every morning.  I bring 5 at the start of the week for her.  Sometimes to mix it up I'll pack an envelope of oatmeal (that they mix with hot water and give to her).  She especially loves the (low sugar) Apple/Cinnamon and Maple Brown Sugar ones.

We have to provide 3 meals a day and so the other always have lots of fruit so if she's hungry they may give her the banana too, or something.

  • I make mini quiches in a muffin tin.... basically just mix eggs, milk together.. put in muffin tin, then I add shredded cheese and some veggies or ham and the girls love them.  Plus I can wrap the extras up for the next day.
  • Abbie loves Nutrigrain bars.  She also loves mini pancakes and french toast.  She can be picky if I introduce other breakfast foods.  Once in awhile she'll eat eggs or oatmeal.

  • Thank goodness our daycare provides the foods for the kids, which I think for breakfast is usually an english muffin with something on it and apple slices. Alex hates any sweet breakfast foods. She usually picks one of these: eggs, a bagel (not toasted or even split), peanut butter on bread, just bread, granola, dry strawberry frosted shredded wheat, yogurt, grapes, apple
  • At school Evie's breakfast is a yogurt, and either bread (today banana bread) or cereal. She loves yogurt and feeds it to herself. Oh also a water.
