Review of a Jamaica AI :-)

we just got back from 4 nights at The Jewel Dunn's River near Ocho Rios. We had such a great time!!  I know people post on here a lot about beach getaways, so thought i'd share :-)

Its a smaller AI- i think only like 200 rooms. Its not a huge place, which is really nice- you don't feel like you have a trek to get everywhere on the resort. room was nice- we had an ocean view in the "diamond" building. This building includes alcohol in the mini bar in the room. we didn't book in this building, but got upgraded when we got there. the view was nice- we could see palm trees and water- BUT, it also looked down on the roof of a lower section of the building, so that kind of took away from it a little bit. Then again, we weren't in the room much- and only there a part week, so i didn't expect the room with THE BEST view :-) bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice with jetted tub and big vanity counter.

The food was really good for an AI. They had a buffet that was opened for breakfast, lunch, dinner. at dinner they also had a hbachi restaurant you could go to, an italian restaurant, and another restaurant with almost a nice "French" theme. They also had a brick oven pizza place- AMAZING jerk chicken pizzas, and a grill that had wraps and burgers. one night, they had "dinner on the peir" for the whole resort which was great- dinner outside in the warm air, almost like a wedding with 5 or 6 courses (plantain stuffed chicken! yum!)

the beach area was kind of small, but not bad. there were always plenty of chairs. they have hoby cats and kayaks you can take out which were fun.

the staff was just amazing- soooo friendly and "whatever you want, mon!" a few of them would even climb up the palm trees, get a coconut down, and open if for you so you could drink fresh coconut milk! :-)

it was just a great time! so relaxing to have everything taken care of :-) would defnitely recommend it- its adults only, so if you don't have kids yet or looking to get away without yours for a few days... definitely check it out!!
