Catholics - no meat on Ash Wednesday right?

LOL my dh is the same way.  I'm Jewish so I always forget and then he reminds me that he can't eat meat.  Actually this post just reminded me that he can't and I was planning on defrosting bolognese sauce and making pasta tomorrow night.  I think he will have to just eat the pasta with some other type of sauce since it's my first day back in the office and I won't have time for much else.  But Friday's are meatless too no?

It's a day of fasting (one full meal that day, no food in between meals) and abstinence (no meat).

nope- no meat.....unless of course you are the lady I met in the Foodtown butcher dept a few years ago during Lent who told me it was OK to eat chicken because that's not meat!

I think its only one meal that day too. I have already been told I need to attend 8 am mass with Ryan. Kid is a holy roller since he is making his first communion this year. Drives me nuts!

Yea, you are right, Ash Weds, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday are fasting days.

Kelly, I am laughing so hard!  MH is Catholic but basically only when he feels like it.  As he left for work today, I yelled to him to remember to go to church!  Yes, his Hindu wife had to remind him!  

Luckily, we had planned on fish tonight for dinner anyway.
