So it's time for the spring fundraiser at daycare. And it's the same exact one we did in the fall. I'm not against fundraising, but I think we need to mix it up a bit. How many frozen pies can a person buy?
We do the kid stuff book and the frozen pies in the fall. (Makes sense. You can buy pies for the holidays.) You can also order a magazine subscription online though the pie vender. But now it's the spring and it's the same exact fundraiser. Anyone do anything geared more towards spring? I'd like to give the director a few suggestions.
TIA!
Karen

Re: Need fundraising ideas
Our DD's pre-school is currently doing a chocolate fundraiser through a company. It works out well because a lot of people end up buying for the Easter Season. They have chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, nuts, etc.
They have also done a plant fundraiser. I would think that might be a good idea with spring approaching.
On a bigger scale, they are also doing a Ladies Night fundraiser.
Good luck!
yep they do

Oooh...chocolate. Why didn't I think of that?
I had suggested wrapping paper and I was told they did that one a few years ago and it wasn't very successful. I pointed out that if they have new parents now, though, the outcome might be different. Guess they like their pies.

Ours did gertrude hawk earlier this year. But it was a box of chocolate bars that you sell for $1 each. Basically each family was handed a box at pick up. It was a $50 box.
I liked it because there was no ordering and nothing to distribute. If we have those kind, I don't do it because I don't want to deal with it and I just write a check as my contribution. But we also only have a fundraiser when there is something specific they want to buy.
Amy, they sell gift cards? That's awesome! A great suggestion. When I was in high school the sophomore sold wrapping paper. I don't know where it came from but it was good quality, and every year there were people in town looking for sophomores to buy the wrapping paper from.

We have the Gertude Hawk fundraiser though I don't like Gertrude Hawk so we aren't buying anything. I have suggested to our parent org the grocery store gift cards as well as maybe having a scrapbooking event as it would be a fun night out and a fundraiser. Basically I offered to vendor at the crop since I sell scrapbooking stuff and donate all my commission to the school. Plus they'd make money on any other vendor, the tickets (especially if we could get a location discounted) and maybe a 50/50 raffle.
We're doing the Gertrude Hawk fundraiser at B's school right now.
We also do the gift cards - I like those. We had a ton of them - everything from Whole Foods to TRU to Ruth's Chris steakhouse........
At the preschool, they sell ravioli and sauces from Raffetto's (in NYC) - their stuff is really good. One of the moms works for their corporate office and set it up......
