This is probably going to be a post and run (since I am chasing a toddler all day.) But I am getting really bad cabin fever, and Tristan is getting bored during the day too. I need new ideas of things to do! He is an explorer at heart. He doesn't do well at Lil Monkey Buziness since he learned how to open the crawler area door and only stays in the big area for a little while before he starts trying to escape and explore every where else. I don't know much about the children's museum. Is it similar to Lil Monkey Buzniss? Any other places for a toddler?
THANKS LADIES!
Re: Toddler Activites
For kids of all ages, I love the indoor pools at rec centers. It's great to expose them to water and it tires them out for a nice long nap like nothing else.
There's also the play area at the Cherry Creek Mall. Or the Wildlife experience or Butterfly Pavalion.
The Children's Musuem is great too.
The Children's Museum has a great baby/toddler area.
Have you looked into story time at the library? Free and fun!
The aquarium is kind of expensive, but all the toddlers I've ever taken there (I'm a nanny) have loved it.

We do the indoor play area at Paul Derda Rec (Broomfield), the free playarea at Cherry Creek, and the WOW Children's Museum. DD also goes to gymnastics at the rec center, and we go to a music class once a week.
We try to go swimming once a month or so, and have gone to the play area at Flatirons, but there's too many big kids there for us most days. We go to the Zoo a lot, too, since we have a membership. The Denver Children's Museum has a great toddler room, but it's a lot of $$ for us on any kind of regular basis. We also just go for lots of walks - DD is really happy just being outside, so a walk and sidewalk chalk can occupy her for a really long time.
No more baby siggie pics. Boo.
Wow! So many great ideas mamas thank you!
Mrs.Greeko- I did not know Jump Street actually had a littles area! That is really awesome, and very inexpensive.
ziggy23213- I have looked into the library stuff and we even took a Kindermusic class and he just would not stay still for any of it. I would hate to be chasing him all over the library while they are reading stories.
swinsto3- I am in Thornton too and our babies arent that far apart. Maybe we can meet up someday? For a walk? T loves to be outside too. I am just over the cold (and wind!)
Thank you so much everyone for your great ideas! I hope I can fill up the rest of winter. I am really just ready for spring and parks again.
Anytime! DD goes to MILs on Thursdays, and does gymnastics at the Thornton rec on Tuesdays (the session just started - you should check it out. If T loves to run, he'd be in heaven. It's basically 45 minutes of running, climbing and jumping). We're always up for something - I'd love to check out Jump Street sometime!
No more baby siggie pics. Boo.
Jumpin' Jordy's in Westminster has a groupon today for discounted passes. My girls love that place, although DD2 is a lot more limited in what she's willing to explore.
Paul Derda Rec Center. The Apex Center also has a soft-play area that's free.
I took my girls to PetCo yesterday, and they had a lot of fun just looking at the lizards, fish, turtle tank, crickets in bags, etc. The mice were especially cute to watch.
The WOW Museum is fun. Also, Apex has open play times at their gymnastics center on Simms & 82cd-ish -- it's $2 per child for an hour of running around, jumping on their floor trampoline, diving into their foam-block pit, walking along balance beams of different heights, swinging on a rope swing, etc. It's for age 5 and under, and I take my girls every week for them to play before DD1's gymnastics class.
Hours are: Mondays & Tuesdays: 2-3 p.m.
Wednesdays & Fridays: noon-1 p.m.
Thursdays: 10:30-11:30 a.m.
