As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. Sugar Cookies/Royal Icing How far in advance?
I'm finally trying my hand at royal icing. I'm going to make cookie favors for my daughter's second birthday. I want to give myself enough time to make them, ice them etc. with all the chaos of family coming into town and just in case I screw up a batch. From what I've found a week is OK? I want them to taste good still, since they are for kids and may take another day or so before they are eaten after the party.(If they are a meany mommy like me and ration them to DD!)

Definitely! I am so excited to finally be trying them. I have a few ideas for her Puppy themed party, I'm just not sure how much I can pull off with house guests too!

It's funny - none of the cookie blogs I follow had any puppy cookies! I was surprised.

I may stick with easy bones and dog houses or something this go 'round. I thought a Puppy theme would be easy, but I'm having a hard time finding exactly what I want. Normally, that wouldn't stop me but I'm already frazzled I kind of want to "bake by numbers"
I'm going to do cupcakes since that's all she wants. I hear it every day, but I don't want the kids to have too much icing (lots of hair on dogs) so I figure fondant, but then that's not very tasty for kiddos either. Was so much easier when I just made tasty goodies for myself!
