Can someone explain Penzey's to me?
I see you ladies talking about Penzey's all the time so I finally Googled it. What's the deal? Is it just a great place to buy spices and cheaper then buying in a store?
Re: Can someone explain Penzey's to me?
Yes you can get all the same online.
Due to shipping cost I find it most beneficial when I have a large order. I also do not have a Whole Foods, Fresh Market, etc. near me so to get good quality spices I pretty much have to order them. I have ordered from them several times and have always been pleased.
I also came across a coupon code recently for $5 off $10 that expires 5/28: 00002c

There's one near me in Northwest Philly. I love it!
It's near a bunch of other cute shops (including a cheese store), so it's worth a day trip.
ditto others - great prices for great quality spices, and yes you get the same whether you order online or go to a store.
Enter that coupon code in the Express Ordering section to get the $5 off $10 purchase.
I love ordering from them (no easy access to a store), because they include a free small jar of their current promotional spice with every order. It's fun getting to try new spices or blends for free (well, I guess it cancels out the shipping cost, but still something they don't have to be doing for their customers). (Unless you are MWC - she didn't get one in her last order).
After you've ordered from them, you will start getting the catalog that has the coupons. Or, just ask on here. Plenty of people here use them and get the catalog and can give you the current promotional code. :-)
Go to My Penzey's and register for an account, then I think you'll get the emails with coupon codes.
Love, love, love Penzey's. Their prices are much more affordable than you'd find in the grocery store, and the product is a much higher quality. I always buy it bagged, instead of in jars...save a ton of money that way!
I don't have a store near me, but they've always been great through the internet. A coupon code can usually be found online for a free item, and they always include a small sample size of another item too. I really can't say enough about them, they're wonderful!
I just discovered them this past summer and love them! Imagine my delight when my brother and I went to the Strip District in Pittsburgh and there was a shop there! I've now been calling him and having him run down and buy me new spices as I think I'll need them and then get them from him when I see him once a month (since the store is 3 hours from me).
I get their catalog and there is usually a coupon for a free spice or free spice box. It is much cheaper (and better quality) then most spices I get in stores.
Being that it is a Milwaukee company, and therefore they are all over the place here, I go to the store all.the.time! If you ever have a chance, it is great! Because they have all the spices out to smell. And they told me (at the closest one to me) that they rarely care about the expiration date on the coupons.....so try saving any of the coupons that you don't use try and use them if you do ever get to a store. (they do expire for online use.)
