anyone use a personal shopper?

my work wardrobe needs a serious overhaul. a lot of stuff is old, a lot is crap so i stopped wearing it. i'm now a sr. director and would like to look the part.

when i try to update my clothes, i wind up buying hodgepodge and still can't put it all together. i want help with the basics to build a new wardrobe.

anyone ever use a personal shopper for that? i feel like i need help and direction and can't do it all on my own.

Re: anyone use a personal shopper?

  • One of my friends just did it at Nordstrom - she was going back to work after 6 years home (and two kids) and needed a serious overhaul. It's free to the customer - she basically just called the Short Hills store, made an appointment, talked thorugh with her ahead of time what she wanted, her lifestyle, her budget, etc. and she got there and had a ton of stuff pulled. No pressure to buy. The shopper makes commission, you don' tpay for it. She wound up with work stuff, weekend stuff, etc.

  • I was thinking Nordstrom - good to know.
  • I know J. Crew does it as well.

  • Lord and Taylor does this, too.  They also have good coupons!
