Any hotel recs for Chicago? I'm hoping DH and I can take a trip there in April during my break. Neither of us has ever been and I don't really know much about the city, either.

Re: Chicago
My family always stays at the Congress Plaza Hotel. It's less expensive than some hotels and has some great old charm to it. There's a Chicago bus tours stop within 2 blocks of it and some of the rooms have view of Lake Michigan (request it when you book the room)! If you're looking for something more new and fancy, this isn't ideal, but if you're planning on being out and about most of the time and don't mind older hotels, I'd recommend it. The one thing that threw me off last time we went is that it's a non-union hotel so there were people picketing outside of it lol. It didn't bother me at all (it's not like they stopped me from walking in and out), but I just wasn't expecting it. :-P
I highly recommend you take the bus tours in Chicago b/c you can get day passes (I think they do multiple day passes too) and stop at things like the aquarium and Hershey store, and you get to hear a ton of fun facts about the city!
You have an email!
I go to Chicago quite often for work and I always stay at The Palmer House (A Hilton hotel)....
I get a great rate through work, but from what I understand the AAA rate is also good.
It's a great location - downtown and central.
You will LOVE Chicago! So much to do and see!
