Re-doing our bathroom-need help!

Please post pictures (or links...or both!) of what you would do with our bathroom accessories.  The fixtures are "rubbed bronze".  The trim is white, vanity is wood.  The color is a grey blue.

I'm thinking white for everything, (need shower curtian, rugs, towels at least...we'll need some sort of art too, but I haven't gotten that far). but is that too plain?  Should we incorporate black or silver?

Thoughts?

Re: Re-doing our bathroom-need help!

  • Can you post a picture?  What stain of wood on the vanity?

Not sure if that will work--it's the "after" picture (this is the inspiration, the wood tone is the same as our vanity with white trim.  Paint color is very similar.

  • Boo - the picture isn't working for me.
  • I like the idea of white for everything.  Is this your primary bathroom?  I love white towels but they are hard to keep bright wite.....
  • I would probably do black/white/gray for the curtains/towels/mat.  White bath mats show every little piece of lint and dirt and I know this from experience.  Towels are hard to keep bright, too.

Steel gray bath mats would look great.  You can do black towels or any shade of gray towels that look good with the color paint on your walls.  Shower curtain would look great in all white or a black/gray/white pattern.

For art, stick with black and white photography.  You can add pops of color here, too.  Not sure how much wall space you have, but I love the extra large mats around art if it is a b&w piece.  Maybe a set of two or three will look good together.

Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

  • Here are some shower curtains from Target.  Not sure what your style is...

  • I would go with a combo of white and gray for towels. I'm sure you can find a gray-blue that will complement the paint. I would stick with a white shower curtain.

I like Jeep Doll's idea about B&W photos for art.
