Crockpot Soup

Hi! So I want to make a soup in my crackpot, I browned some stew beef, have beef broth, so my question is how do I add the potatoes and egg noodles. Should I cook them separately and then just combine the ingredients in the bowl, or can I let all of this simmer together without it being mushy!? Tia!

Re: Crockpot Soup

  • I don't use my crockpot but I'd add potatoes to the meat and broth, along with some veggies if you have them (carrots, onions, celery). I'd cook the noodles separately and add them at the very end or just spoon the soup over them. Once you add noodles to the broth they'll soak up the liquid and make your soup more like a stew and the noodles themselves will get mushy. Keep them separate.
  • I always add the meat, veggies, and potatoes to the crock-pot.  But I agree with PP, cook the noodles seperately and put them in at the end or put them in you soup bowl and pour soup over top.
