Here is my pinterest board for a baby boy's nursery.
Ok, so I am suddenly "so sure" that baby Button is a boy (as to the reason why they are in quotes...I thought Lily was a boy too), but I am totally NOT finding what I want for fabrics for a quilt. I already have a girl quilt made and I love it and it will be easy to decorate if it does happen to be a girl. I want a vintage truck "theme", but I can't find any vintage-y fabrics. I don't want little kid/cartoon stuff, I want a grown-up feel, if that makes any sense.
The walls are painted a neutral beige now with white trim, and I have a white curtain rod holding up drop cloth curtains for now until baby is here and I can re-do that. I'd love to do a wood wall (there is even the perfect wall with built in bookcases that would look awesome with wood on the backs of the shelves), which I could either keep rustic for a boy or paint and white wash if it's a girl (still going with a sort of vintage-y feel for a girl's room to).
Anyway, I guess what I'm asking for is if anyone has seen any vintage pickup fabric, or has any ideas for other directions to go with the quilt? I have wanted to do a kaleidoscope quilt for a long time and I think that would look cool done all scrappy, but I have no idea where to start as far as fabric goes.
Re: Nursery help!
I just knew you'd have Bower Power's wall pinned. LOVE it.
I know they had some pick ups with puppies in the back on Fat Quarter Shop, but I can't find it now.

Here is one from Spoonflower. There are others on this page, too. Put "truck" in the search box and you'll get a few pages. Pricey, but if you are just using this as an accent it is worth it.
Here is a blog that lists some more.
Can't wait to see the finished nursery!

Alexander Henry's 'the Pick up' is pretty cool. I've seen it in several colors on ebay.

Found another one!
FREAKING GASP! I loooove that truck fabric, but holy cow at $11 for a FQ. I did the girl quilt in fabric from Connecting Threads (that was on sale, at that), so I think I can splurge a bit for accent fabric. I still need to check out the other links.

Yeah, it is a "design your own" fabric site, so I think they only print on demand.
The Alexander Henry one that a pp listed above looks very similar in truck style!

Ok, why didn't I see the Alexander Henry one or the one you found? I should have asked you girls a loooong time ago. I also love the gray and red one. It's between the gray and red and the Alexander Henry fabric now! Thank you all so much for looking around for me!
Still planning on doing the kaleidoscope quilt with the truck fabric as the backing and an accent, then using the colors of the trucks to make it scrappy. How fun! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I love the vintage trucks idea! It looks like you found your truck fabric, but in case you need a cheaper alternative, what about pulling out the colors of the trucks in the photos & doing the quilt all in solids?
My little brother's bedroom growing up was along the same vibe (he even had a wall paneled in barnwood), and he had a quilt that was solids with a navy background. Very boyish, but still totally in the theme you're looking for. And Kona is a lot cheaper than printed cotton!
Either way, I can't wait to see what you make.
