Hobbes is driving me UP.THE.WALL. For the last 2 weeks, he has been waking up at 4am and deciding to walk/jump/pounce all over the bed. Then he'll climb up on, say, my chest, and I'll go back to sleep, thinking he's finally settled down. Oh, no.
He's started grooming us, y'all. In the middle of the night. We'll wake up to incessant, completely irrepressable licking of anything with hair and some things without. Eyebrows, DH's beard, ears, they're all fair game. I woke up this morning and he was licking my chin and lower lip. Whaaa and ewww. And like I said, he's very persistent. I push him away, he comes back 5 minutes later (just about after I've fallen back asleep. And I'm using "morning" lightly. It is never light out when he does this. Usually more like 3-4am. I haven't slept well in weeks.
OH! Andplusalso, he's recently started rolling around on my desk in the middle of the day (instead of just laying/sleeping) and attacking random things, such as my mouse, the cordless phone, and a mini-legal-pad. At this exact moment, no joke, he's gnawing on the little spindles on the back of the rocking chair in my office.
SOOooo, who wants him? I can ship tomorrow. He IS very photogenic:

It's a deal. She and Cat can take the idea of a pissing contest literally!
I gotta tell ya, I don't think another hyper cat will work as a valid exchange currency. However, he wouldn't get into the dog food here. Dingus eats too fast and with much enthusiasm.
oh Gawd - not the horizontal blinds! I swear - Rosco has made it his mission to destroy all the horizontal blinds in the house...
This made me laugh out loud. Sounds so familiar.
Our Hermione (13 yo female) used to do the same thing, in terms of the nighttime grooming. She went through a phase where she'd wake me up every morning with licks either to the nose or to the ears (along with the random licking in the middle of the night). Now, since H and I have gotten married and added two to our brood (cats, not kids), they're all disallowed in the bedroom. I'm slightly allergic and it helps my quality of sleep to let them have the run of the rest of the house at bedtime.
But I will admit, occasionally I miss her little kisses. She's such a sweet girl.
Your Hobbes is beautiful. Seriously gorgeous face.
