cat pee troubles

So, one of our cats has decided she doesn't want to pee in her litter box, and has instead decided on the dog bed.

We tried cleaning the bed with NM, and finally resorted to just buying a new bed. Still peeing.

She's also peeing in her box sometimes, so i'm not sure what's up with her.

We ordered some cat attract litter and a feliway diffuser. What else should I do?

Should I make a vet appointment? Even though she uses the box sometimes?

Re: cat pee troubles

  • Def make a vet appt asap.

Keep the boxes insanely clean.  Consider adding another box or two.

Create some low-stress zones for her (at my house that means dog-free and kid-free areas for the cats to chill, eat, and for the box.  It also means vertical space for kitties to hang out in).

Encourage water intake.  I do this by keeping lots of really fresh water dishes all over the house (including a pet drinking fountain) and adding a little extra water to canned food.

Ditto these suggestions. For one of my cats, her only symptom of a UTI was peeing outside the box.
