Memoir rec's appropriate for a 15-year-old
I am revising my outside memoir project for my students and am looking to update my suggested reading list. I'm interested in all sorts of memoirs/autobiographies - athletes, celebrities, historical figures, etc - something for everyone.
Thanks!

This is pretty good. I've done excerpts when I taught 7th grade. It's about when she was in the tsunami.
I've read a lot of historical biographies recently, but they're not autobiographies. Are you specifically looking for autobiographies?
Yes - definitely written BY the person.
*always remembering Annaleigh Lucy*
OK ... I'm reading this one right now. It's a collection of letters between John and Abigail Adams throughout their marriage. Very interesting read. Would that be suitable, since it's just letters they wrote themselves plus very little outside commentary (basically just saying, "In [year] they were doing XYZ"? http://www.amazon.com/My-Dearest-Friend-Letters-Abigail/dp/0674057058/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330006768&sr=8-1
I dont read many but these are the the ones I have read and would be fine
I Beat The Odds: From Homelessness, to The Blind Side, and Beyond by Michael OherFreedom in Exile: The Autobiography of The Dalai Lama
A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah
Not My Turn to Die: Memoirs of a Broken Childhood in Bosnia by Savo Heleta
Zlata's Diary: A Child's Life in Wartime Sarajevo: Revised Edition by Zlata Filipovic
War Child: A Child Soldier's Story by Emmanuel Jal
Do you teach sophomores? I'm a 10th grade reading teacher, I teach remediation so some of these may be too easy:
A Child Called It
The Lost Boy
They Cage the Animals at Night
The Three Doctors
I'll look in my book closet tomorrow to see what else we have.
I read "Love, Lucy" by lucille ball when i was in high school and really liked it a lot. She had a really interesting life
