the difference between my PCP and old OB/GYN
At my 6 week follow up after having Ava, I was 29 and the doctor told me to start thinking about #2 because I was old. Old at 29 and with a 6 week old, there was no way to wrap my head around another. That, coupled with a bunch of other things, made me leave the practice.
Today, I was at my PCP and she asked if I was still on the Pill. I told her I wasn't and was still considering IUD or what else I might do. She said - well, you probably have 17 years left so if you don't want another kid, settle on something soon.
Big difference between I'm running out of time and I have 17 years of fertility left - lol!
Re: the difference between my PCP and old OB/GYN
Wow!
One thing I have definitely learned is how doctors can be so different. It really is a trip! Our old ped (who I loved for their electronic file system but loathed for other reasons) was so big into nebulizer treatments. Our new ped doesn't "do that". I also had 1 ped tell me I need to be retracting my son's foreskin all the way now to clean it where another doctor told me not to retract it fully until he's older. Also had a ped tell me to put nothing on the cord stump, had another doc tell me it needed to be swabbed with alcohol at every diaper change. To each their own opinion I suppose.
I left my old endo practice because I had the same "you're getting old and need to decide soon" when Evan was 4 months old! Left for other reasons too but that was the final straw IMO.
I get that they all have their own opinions and if they all agreed on everything it'd be boring. It's still annoying though!

yes there is. it's just funny to me that one thought i needed to hurry up because i was too old to continue much longer while the other one thinks i need better protection than a condom because i probably don't want to be 45 and surprised.
