recs for stand mixer

Mine is a wedding gift it isn't high quality and it is super small. I want to make pasta and mix stuff.

TIA

Re: recs for stand mixer

  • I have a cuisinart stand mixer and love it!  I love the fact that it has a timer so if dough has to be kneaded for 5 mins, I can just set it and do something else without worrying if it will overknead.  I highly recommend it.

Oh the top flips opens and you can add a blender or food processor bowl on top.   It's a multi purpose machine!

  • I have a Kitchen Aid Professional 600 and I LOVE it!  I've had it going on 4 years and there's nothing this thing can't do.  I have the scraper attachment and love it.  I've had the ice cream attachment for a while and DH got me the pasta roller, press, and extruder for Christmas as well as the meat grinder.

If the KA's are a little over your budgett I had a Sunbeam before I got my KA.  It worked well too.  It can't do the big batches of bread like the KA but it can do smaller batches.  My old mixer is still working well, my parents wanted it when I got my new one and they use the heck out of it...still going strong.

    Hope that helps

  • can not say enough good things about Kitchen Aid. I even have the pasta rolling attachment, and the ice cream.

My grandma bought on in the 1950's and my cousin is still using it, never had one problem with it in 60 years!

  • I have a KitchenAid, and love it. Deals spring up on Amazon all the time, and I've seen some people virtually giving them away on my local Craigslist. Keep your eyes peeled there too!
