Hey! I took your rec and Landon goes to Dr. K. We love her! Tonight I had to call bc he's getting his two bottom teeth and I wanted to give him tylenol and I wasn't sure of the dose.
Dr. M was the doctor on call. She had me take his temp and it was 99.9 and she said if it hits 100 she is sending him to the ER! That sounds a little overkill to me. Have you had any interactions with her? Do you find her to be... I don't know, overreactive? I just don't see why I'd take him to the ER for 100 so I wanted to see if she's always like this!
Re: Hookersbabe
we have...and don't like her. she is very old school. m was very sick starting around 4 weeks...i had a couple of very negative interactions with her, but found her to be under-reactive. she was actually encouraging us not to take m to the hospital, when in fact she needed surgery. after all was said in done, we had a serious conversation with dr k about how we loved her and wanted to stay with her but needed assurances that we wouldn't have to deal with dr m...since then whenever we call, dr k has always called us back.
as for going to the hospital for 100 temp, i don't know what the rules are with babies and temps...we were very fortunate that once we got through the surgery, the worst m had was a cold...i mean i don't get the jump from teething pain to having to go to the ER, it does seem over the top to me...
did she tell you the dosage? i would think regardless of what's going on, that will definately break it! also, when you took his temp, what kind of thermometer did you use? at the very least do an armpit check with an old school one to get a more accurate read...
i hope the tylenol does the trick, and that he feels better!
