Wall ideas, anyone?

I have pretty much decided on this bedding set

for my daughter's new bedroom (she is going to be 15 months when she moves to her room, as another baby is one the way).  Side note:  she will be in a crib for a little while before moving her to a bed.

My dilemma is that I do NOT like the border.  Do any of you have any other cute ideas for the wall (that would go well with this bedding)?  If you have a link to your idea, it would be awesome!  I'm at a total loss right now and I've been told this is the board to visit.  TIA!

Re: Wall ideas, anyone?

  • You could do a mirror hung by a pretty ribbon, a gallery wall of different artwork or pictures. I don't like the border either, but I don't like borders in general. The bedding is super cute, but the whole room is far to themey, as a whole. Just find stuff you like that coordinates in color, rather than theme. One of my favorite sites for nursery ideas lately is Laybabylay.com. She puts together fabulous mood boards and links every item she shows (usually found off Etsy). GL!

  • Look on Etsy for jungle.animal art. I personally quite dislike kids' rooms with all of the coordinating accessories and I would not purchase the other items. GL!!!

  • I agree with pp.  I'm not into super matchy kids' rooms.  I'd find wall art and accessories in coordinating colors.

  • What color are you painting the walls? I love the stripes in the valance. The light green is a pretty color and that green would make a terrific main wall color, then you could use the hot pink for accents.

For wall decor, I like the idea of large mirror hung by a ribbon. The "inspiration picture" has the child's name on the wall... I'm not a huge fan of that, but maybe you could do DD's initials in white gallery frames.

You could also add some wooden trim around the room, (chair rail, crown molding etc.) and paint the trim in the hot pink and white...

  • You could go with some decorative wall decals with grufello theme for decoration of your daughter?s room.
  • I agree that the border is not what you should put up in the room.  Last month I redecorated my daughters room and I choose wall decals instead of a border in her room. I can't tell you how many compliments I have received on the wall decals!
