Visiting Austin -- Considering Travaasa
Ok...We are going to be visiting Austin within the next two weeks - probably for a couple of weekdays and the weekend. I was thinking of booking us at Travaasa for the weekend to enjoy some relaxation. Is it as lovely as it looks?

I have never been myself, but I have some friends that went back when it was known as Crossroads (I *think* that's what it was called), and they all seemed to enjoy it. I don't know anybody that's been since it changed names (and hands?) though.
I've stayed at Lakeway Resort for a weekend, and it was great!
No. It's better. WAY better. We live down the street, but we went last weekend for our anniversary. I can't even BEGIN to explain how wonderful it was.
The food- over the top incredible. Dinner and breakfast were large portions, lunch was a little skimpy but that may have been because we ate right after I finished the challenge course and was starving.
The rooms are equally amazing. The beds are insanely comfortable, they're very clean, and even though shared showers skeeve me out to no end these ones were clean enough for me to use comfortably. We had a canyon view room, which was beautiful.
We cheaped out at the spa and both got the head/neck treatment. It was 25 of the best minutes of my life, hands down. I was loosey goosey until the next morning.
Don't forget to bring swim suits- the infinity pool is really neat and there is an outdoor hot tub (head there at sunset!!) and sauna. We forgot ours, but we just ran back home to get them, lol.
A lot of the "experiences" fill up the day before, so sign up for anything you want to do ASAP. I don't know if you can do this before you check in, but it's worth asking if there is something you REALLY want to do. We wanted to do the challenge course and equine experience, but the schedule didn't work when we were there so it was just the challenge course.
I can't wait until they open the restaurant to the public, seriously. It's $$$ (dinner and breakfast were included in our package, but dinner was easily over $100 and breakfast was $40), but it was THAT GOOD. DH and I agreed that even though it's generally out of our budget to stay there, it will be our go-to place for splurges and special occasions.
