Her morning news partner interviewed her. I'm not sure she understands where she went wrong while interacting with the dog. But her willingness to go on camera so shortly afterwards is admirable.
ETA. There hasn't been bully breed backlash (so I've seen) about this around here. Mostly a positive outreach hoping that she has a full recovery, goes back to work, that people learn from this, and that the dog is ok. The dog was held in quarantine for ten days--standard procedure for a dog biting a human--and was released to his owner.
For those unfamiliar, the dog was on the morning news the day after falling through ice and being rescued. Many wonder whose dumb idea it was to put a dog in a stressful situation (lights, cameras, lots of strange people) the day after a very traumatic experience. I hope the owner invests in a good leash and training classes for them both to learn to use it (me assuming the owner frequently let's his dog off leash in unauthorized areas and does not have the dog adequately trained to respond immediately to verbal commands like "come").
Re: Update to news anchor bitten by dog. LIP to video.
I'm glad she's okay. And I'm glad she realizes it was an accident and that the dog belongs with it's family. I hope she has a full, quick recovery.
Hopefully some good can come out of this in the form of people learning what to do and what not to do with dogs re: petting them and reading their signals.
Snow!
