Do you treat your lawns to kill insects?

There are so many ticks up here (i now live in the woods, literally). We have all had them on us since NOVEMBER most recently matt had one last week (in February, hello). I know it's extremely warm so they are all out and partying but I have a MAJOR phobia of these fukkers and I want them all to die. Iv;e called some lawn care places and the one i called is $120 a treatment but they got shady reviews. I dont care about the $ I really want to kill them or at least repel them.

Do you treat for ticks? Our landlord said he's going to put LIME down as he "read" that is a natural repellent for them. WTF? Any suggestions? I think mulch is a natural barrier but we rent, and I dont really want to beautify this property for someone else...i could plant some plants that attract birds and other insects that eat ticks...but i draw the line at getting guinea fowl on thelawn. LOL!

No thanks, I don't need child porn or Tweets from this site---thanks for the memories nesties---RIP, Franco---2004--2012.

  • our bug guy sprays around the perimeter of the lawn - not on the actual lawn.  Ticks are mostly in the bushes and trees hanging low - so that's where he sprays.   He also sprays around the outside of the house.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • I cannot find my own bug gyuy Gail! Ive been asking everyone up here and everyone says, um, mow your lawn and check yourself daily. HELLO. That doesnt help my phobia. I need chmical reassurance. They quoted us $120 a treatment but the company was shady. Why do they spray INSIDE your house? Is it for ticks? That would send me to the funny farm.

  • check out the tick tackler for info. we used them last year to compare prices. also they sell these great patches if you are going to be out for an afternoon playing. they work well. looks like a large band aid with something in it than when it is absorbed by your body it gives off a scent that the ticks do not like.
