Collins just got caught red handed!!
And I'm trying to so hard to not laugh. She has figured out that she can get into the pantry and get herself a treat. I may or may not have accidentally left the pantry door open and apparently we didn't have the thing we put on top of the treats on it.
All of a sudden we hear "Crunch crunch crunch" DH and I look at each other and he gets up and SPRINTS across the kitchen to the pantry and catches her. Gets the "Collins! BAD DOG! No!" and Collins flips over on her back immediately with a look of "I'm sorry! But I'm only sorry cuz I got caught."
All of a sudden I'm her favorite because I didn't "catch" her.

You mean the not-quite-contrite-I'd-do-it-again-in-a-heartbeat look? Yeah, we get that sometimes, too.

I was just thinking this same thing when I went into the kitchen closet to grab the broom & actually remembered to close the door behind me! That closet has Coopers food & all my cleaning supplies. I am notorious for leaving the door open after I grab the broom, or something Im going to use real quick, walk away to do...whatever, & then hear the rustle of a food bag followed by "crunch crunch crunch" as Coopers helping himself to his food. Like, the trough is open, its free for all time!
Cooper doesn't feel bad when we bust him. He'll hear us bolting to the closet (yelling "Cooper NO!" although I don't know why we bother to say it, it doesn't do anything! Lol) & only dig his head into the bag farther & attempt to eat faster
We literally have to drag him out by the collar. Its quite pathetic. You would think we never feed the dog.
I can sometimes catch him before he does it. If I leave it open, or just lazily close the door behind me (b/c I know Im going back in about 2 seconds) & he's standing by me, or close to the door when I do it, I'll watch him. He'll stand there for 30 seconds staring into the closet at his food bags, clearly contemplating whether or not to break the rules....or, just waiting to get busted Lol!!!
