Mom's Who Have Friends Without Kids

We were invited out with our couple friends who do not have any kids (yet)...my feeling is soon they will.  They invited us out to dinner at Limani in Westfield (not really a "kid" place I would think).  Do you bring your child (H is 18 months for those of you who don't know me) or find a sitter?  I'm leaning towards sitter, but it's just $$$.  Opinions?

I dont think any of my friends without kids would be interested in going out to dinner with my kids. If they wanted family time they would want to hang at our house, not spend money to watch us death stare our kids into behaving

i would never assume plans with friends were + kids unless someone specifically said to bring kids.... but a dinner out always = no kids to me if we're going with friends.

Yeah if we're just grabbing a bite to eat last minute at a diner, i'd bring the kids without a second thought. but if my childless friends made a point to invite us out to a nice place- i would definitely get a sitter.

I would get a sitter. Some of my friends with no kids plan playdates with me lol meaning they want to come over the house and play with my daughter. When we plan dinner it means "us" the adults. As others said, having adult time is really important.

This, times a billion. I'll also add that I have a kid and I get annoyed when my friends bring their kids when we go out (if I've gotten a sitter for mine). lol. But I'm a jerk

I never ever ever bring my children out with my friends. My friends aren't friends with my kids, they're friends with me. That's who I'm sure they'd prefer to spend time with. If we can't find someone, one of us stays home.

this is me next weekend. I have 2friwnds who said they'd rather not get a sitter. There went my fun dinner night. I'm a +1 on your jerkness.
