Daisy...

I'm pretty sure that it was you who ran the Trail Half Marathon on the "Poto" last year??

My friend and I have decided to run it this April - I'm pretty pumped!

I know it'll be tough, training without too many hills around, but I've biked the trail several times before and know - somewhat - what to expect.  Plus, with my lack of training, it'll be no pressure for a PR!

Also - you run at Wildwood occasionally, right?

Have you ever drive a bit further and ran at Oak Openings Preserve?  My parents live near there, so I've been dropping my kids off on Saturday morning and heading to "the Oaks" for my run!  Even more beautiful and wonderful that Wildwood is!

Hope all is well - congratulations on your pregnancy!

Re: Daisy...

  • That is so ironic that you mentioned Oak Openings.  I was just down there about 4 weeks ago running!!  We did about 16 miles on the trails.  Although Oak Openings isn't as technical as Poto, it's a good place to run to get in some trail miles.  I run down there with my dad and his 2 friends.  We also like to run Wildwood.  Have you run over there?  It's so nice!  in park trails, heated restrooms, bike free, you can head out on the paths and run to U of T, etc...  I will be down at Wildwood this coming Saturday to run 20 miles.

You are going to love the trail half!  I wish I could run it this year.

  • We trained at wildwood all through high school and college, and that's where I run during the week because I can stop on my way home from school before I pick my kids up!  I've been using oak openings more now that my parents have moved out that way.  Toledo has some pretty awesome metro parks!

I am really excited for the trail half!!

  • I love running down in Ohio.  Michigan doesn't have the parks Ohio does!
