  • strep is going around big time... we all had it a week ago.

    i would postpone the party.

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • If it's not strep, (which is going around right now) then my guess would be coxsackie virus.  Hope she gets the meds she needs and feels better soon!
  • I always thought with strep you would see white spots, not red?  My daughter and I just had 2 different throat ailments in the last 2 weeks--mine was probably due to a cold, but I got a bad throat infection from it, was not pretty.  And my daughter right before that just had coxsackie!  Pediatrician said it was SO rare to see it this time of year, had asked if we'd been anywhere warm or tropical (which we haven't).  She had a sore throat with fever for 2 days, and we saw red spots in her mouth, including the roof of her mouth.  Luckily her's didn't end up developing much, no sores or blisters, her's must've been a mild case.  I wouldn't rule that out though because it's obviously around somewhere!

not always in the early days... none of my boys or DH or I had the white bumps this past time- but all tested positive with cultures.
