Q for the Runners?

Do you use an app to track the number of miles you run daily/weekly/monthly? I really want to track that way to keep me motivated. I am just at the beginning and dont want to give up Stick out tongue I need to see numbers! Telling me I have run X miles in X time frame will help.

Good apps?

Bad apps?

Free apps?

 TIA!

ETA: I have an iPhone

  • I had a really neat app on my old phone but I can't remember the name :( It kept track of your miles and time and it used gps to save your running path. I will try to figure out what it was to pass it along! Do you have an Iphone or an android?

    I love my crazy child!

  • runkeeper is a free app (for both iphone and droid) and it is great.  It tracks your miles and your pace per miles etc. Then you can see how much you have ran through the runkeeper site.
  • I use Garmin watch, but once I forgot it while traveling a downloaded Track My Run app. I actually used it today since I forgot to charge my watch. Phone apps work okay, nothing like the Garmin, but they get the job done.

If you are new to running I also suggest the Couch to 5k app.

  • I also have a garmin - I've used runkeeper when I've forgotten my garmin. I HATE it. it's wildly inaccurate for me, and drove me insane. ..

I *think* mapmyrun has an app..

I also recommend C25K for a good starting program - I didn't use it, but I've heard a lot of success stories.

    Good Luck!

That is exactly what I am using. I did it about a month ago and got half way through and...well life happened. Been biking more the last few weeks. I just started again.

I am determined to run a 10k or half in 2012!!
