Another ? about Keratin treaments.
I'd LOVE one. But I have so many questions...if you let our hair air dry, is it still as frizzy? My hair is straight, will I have to straighten it? What about when it wears off, is your hair left as it was before the treatment? I heard it can begin to fall out, is this true? Thanks so much?
Also, what's the average price? I have long, thick hair if it makes a difference.
Re: Another ? about Keratin treaments.
From what I've heard, your hair will dry straight. Either with a blow dryer or air. That you won't need to straighten it.
As for when I wears off I don't know...
I have VERY thick hair ( like I feel like a freak every time I get it done b/c they "just can't believe how much hair I have".. My salon starts at $325 but b/c I have so much hair I'm looking at at least $400 and I will prob need it cut and thinned out before they do it even though I JUST had it cut a month ago.
You can air dry and will not have frizz. The one I get is the 4 day one, coppola. I won't do any others. You will not have to straighten, especially if you already have straight hair. If you blow dry it will cut the dry time down to nothing. Average price is around $300. Plus I would expect to spend another $30 on the shampoo & conditioner.
It all depends on your hair. If you have thick, very curly, frizzy hair the treatment will react very differently than if you have wavy, fine hair. I have curly hair (not tight, but not lose curls either) and I still have to use a flat iron to get it straight. All the Keratin does for me is makes my hair less frizzy and cuts my blowout and straightening time down. For me it is worth every penny because of the time it saves me to do my hair.
My salon starts at $300/325 for the treatment and works up in increments of $25 for each additional ounce(?) of product that they have to use.
Over time the treatment will start to wear away. I usually have it done every 5-6 months. In between treatments my hair is still much easier to manage and smoother, but I can tell it is time to get it re-done.
I've had it once. I could let it air dry but it didn't look good. Blow-drying took 4-5 mins. I have shoulder length hair that is fine - medium and wavy. My salon only uses the 24 hour one, I don't remember the name.
It has been 4.5 months and I need it again. The blow drying is still pretty fast but it is def not as smooth. I should flat iron but I'm too lazy. I go in 2 weeks which will be 5 months which is too long for me. I will do it at 4 months next time.
