Best time to book for Disney?

I know, it's been asked so many times, but we've never entertained the idea until recently. Thinking sometime in the fall - too hot in summer, too soon for spring...so would October still be very crowded? We'll have an almost 4 year old so don't want the lines to be unbearable....for all of our sanities.

My uncles works for Disney and he's always said one of the best times to visit is the end of October.

October is a very ideal time to go!  Lower crowds, beautiful weather.  We prefer October, so if you can do it that time of year, go for it!    We've also done end of September, and sometimes it's hot but not bad, but last year in September it was pretty unbearable heat--90 at 9:00am, humid as anything!  We had to be back in the hotels by noon just to get out of it.  Literally the week it hit October the weather turned PERFECT.  Can't go wrong with it!

Just wanted to say hi Jen! Can't believe you've got an almost 4 year old already!

Be careful with Columbus Day. Lots of schools down south have the entire week off, so it gets kinda crowded. Plus it's the food and wine festival. September is always a great time to go because kids will have just gone back to school.
