He's 11 weeks old, purrs like a freight train, and LOVES exploring. Right now we're keeping him separated from Callie - in their limited face time, she's made it clear that she is Not. A. Fan. But it's been less than 24 hours, so I'll give her time to get her hissing, growling, and snorting under control. He's cozied up in our guest room with toys, a snuggly bed, a litter box, and food and water. I slept with him last night, I think it will be DH's turn tonight. The good thing is that when they've been in the same room, she hasn't been aggressive (they were both lying on the bed - opposite ends, but she didn't try to attack him), so I think this is normal, feline "getting to know you and letting you know that I was here first and Mommy and Daddy love me best and I own this place" kind of stuff.
ETA: obviously, I finally figured out how to get the picture to work...
Re: Introducing Gus!
OH. MY. GOODNESS!
I squealed when I say the picture from all the cuteness. i squealed loudly. H looked at me funny....
Awww he is so cute!!
5 cats. 1 baby.
Oh, he definitely will be (both of his parents are). Right now you can mostly just see and feel what will be his undercoat, so he feels like he's coated in yarn. This is why I'm trying to get him used to being brushed now - he's going to need it when he gets to be a big boy! So far, he's pretty good about it although he does try to do the (typical) thing where he'll let me brush him for a bit and will then try to start eating the brush. The next thing I need to get him used to is getting his nails trimmed. Yeeowch!
