How to Rodeo (for the kids) Like a native...tell me how!
so I'm loving the idea of taking the kids to the Rodeo, but have never been to the stuff other than the cook off.
Belle wants to ride the rides, see the animals, milk a cow...
is there an easy way in? easy way out? light rail is ok with me, but I'd prefer something I didn't have to hike a mile to and from to get to.
is the kid stuff and animal stuff close to each other? or is that a seperate day adventure?
teach me, oh wise Rodeo mommies...
big sister, little brother

Re: How to Rodeo (for the kids) Like a native...tell me how!
I go during the weekday in the morning time and pay to park by the stadium. I think it's like $10 or something close to that.
You pay for admission to the grounds (you can get discount admission and carnival tickets almost everywhere...friends, online, school, etc..)
You can go online for the schedule/calendar. But the stuff inside the Arena is all free and opens up at 9am. This is where you can pet the animals, see the hatching chicks, baby animals just born, etc...
I believe the Kid Carnival ground opens up at 11am. You'll need your carnival ticket book where everything there (rides and game) is done by scanning your ticket.
The schedule will also have pig race times and other things to do in the kid country carnival area. Pony rides are $5 (or was $5).
Hope this helps!

Electronic tickets? My, how things have changed!
Last day to but 1/2 priced carnival tickets was Saturday but there are still discounts to be had. Avoid Spring break week
The kids sections carnival/ petting zoo are pretty condensed and close to each other on/in the Reliant Center and Fannin side.
FYI that they won't let you do cash parking in the blue lot anymore (by the stadium). You have to go to the YELLOW lot which is off of Main St and they have trams to take you to the McNee entrance which is pretty good since it's by all the attractions for kids. Went yesterday and had a blast!
Did they allow you to bring the stroller on it? I took the Yellow Tram last night but didn't see strollers. That being said it isn't that bad of a walk.
yes...I had an umbrella stroller, and saw a lot of people with large double strollers. You just need to fold it up and also claim the seat that has the two rows facing each other for more room.
