H and I have had our cat Penny for 2 years (she's 4 years old) and we love her to pieces. The only problem is she's a biter. I grew up with cats, we always had 3-5 cats at once. H also grew up with cats. However none of them were biters. I don't care so much about playful nips or nips to let me know she's over stimulated from being pet too much. I dislike the unprovoked bites.
H and I have tried ignoring it, taking her off our laps, squirting her with water, and firm/loud noes coupled with the squirt/taking off our laps all to no avail.
Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.
Re: Biting Cat
OP, ditto the suggestion about play time. When L was a kitten, she was really bad with biting and scratching. Every time she did it, we left the room and literally turned our backs to her. It took a while, but she eventually got the message. She still does it on occasion, and we still do the same thing. The key for her was us being consistent about it.
5 cats. 1 baby.
She is highly treat motivated lol
