Learning Spice? Birthday gift
My FI has said he wishes he knew how to spice/flavor dishes since i like mine bland.
Do you think that a book would be good or a cooking class as a birthday gift would be good?
Any book recommendations for this? TIA!

Re: Learning Spice? Birthday gift
Penzey's is great... they have some awesome herbs, spices, and seasoning blends. You can also sign up for their mailing list... they will send great coupons and magazine with recipes...
For books, look at these:
Herbs & Spices: The Cooks Reference
The Flavor Bible
Field Guide to Herbs and Spices
Honestly, I think the best way to learn would probably be to take a class. It's hard to learn about flavors from a book!
