The vet we are going to is supposed to participate in a low cost spay/neuter program. When we were there 2 weeks ago for Gwen Tennyson's appointment they quoted us at $280 for the cost per cat. I mentioned the Spay NJ program and they told me that was their cost. Is there any other suggestions? We can't afford $560 right now in addition to all of the therapies for our boys and drs appointments for them not to mention the several other appointments for the kitties we are needing. I'd rather wait until we get our income tax money but I don't think we can wait that long.
Re: Low cost spay clinics
I called and they said they will look into it. The website I pulled up was from Spay USA and I could click on Spay NJ and go from there. The person on the phone said there is a prepaid something that I could do for the actual spay portion but the other costs would be what we would pay for as well. The quote was for $200 for the actual spay portion, $5 for laser pain therapy, and $75 for in house/rotor. So we'd pay a portion on line for the spay and be responsible for the additional $80 as well. That might be more within our budget.
Unfortunately spring is usually when all our appointments are for the kids. We also need to have help with behavior for our 4 year old through a certified behavior therapist. The joys if an autism mom....
I understand how it is with doctors appointments and such. I don't have one with autism but we've got other issues here.
I did a search for New Jersey and not knowing where you are at this is what I found:
