Do you use a food scale?

Please recommend one, if you do!  I am looking to use it for measuring portions of food (WW points) and for measuring ingredients when baking.

Re: Do you use a food scale?

  • I have the Escali one from amazon. It works very well for me
  • Yes... the Oxo Good Grips scale is great.  Whichever scale you buy, try to get one with a pull-out display.  The last scale I had was sooooo annoying, because you couldn't see the weights if your bowl was too big, or if your bowl cast a shadow on the display.

    This.exactly.

I had a Salter scale before that was ok,  When it died, I replaced it with the OXO because of the pull out display, and I am so glad that I did...I love it.

  • We use a Salter glass top digital food scale.  We've had it for abotu 5-6 years now and love it.

  • We have the Salter (I think we got it at Bed Bath and Beyond) and use it a lot.  We've never had a problem with it.

Yep, that's the same one we have and I love it for the same reason!

Ditto, including using a Salter first. I love my scale. It's so much faster to weigh ingredients rather than measure them by volume.
