Question about Keratin...

i have curly hair.  i was told by 1 hairstylist that the keratin would only remove the frizz,  but leave the curls (maybe a bit more relaxed).

another hairstylist said it would totally make my hair straight - i would have no curls left.

are there different types of keratin treatments?  i battle frizz something awful and was contemplating doing this, but i don't want to lose all of my curl.

thanks!!

Re: Question about Keratin...

  • I get keratin done.  I have naturally curly/wavy hair and it took out most of my curl, but then again, I wanted to be able to blow dry it straight easily.  I have absolutely no frizz though (which was the majority of my problem).

From what my stylist says, it really depends on your hair.  Some people experience no curl at all, for some the curl is there but less than before and no frizz.

  • I have curly hair (have gotten keratin twice) and if I let my hair air dry it is still curly, just no frizz.  I can blow it out straight very quickly.

  • Same as pp, I have curly, frizzy hair. It completely took out the frizz, my hair would still air dry curly. BUT when I blow my hair out, my blow dry time went from 25 minutes to like 7. Totally worth it!
