My husband and I will be moving in a few months and would like to get an estimate for moving our things. Does anyone have any recommendations of companies to start checking with? Or anyone to avoid? You can send me an email if you don't want to post here- miss_scuba_2011 at yahoo! Thanks!!
Re: Moving Company?
We used Dreyer Hauling last time we moved: http://www.dreyerhaulingservice.com/
I think it was about $450 for our whole household full of stuff and was worth EVERY penny.. It worked out better than some other places because they didn't start charging us until they arrive and stopped charging when they left.. other companies wanted to charge a trip charge just to move us from Beaverdale to Urbandale..
We used Two Men and a Truck this past August and I think it was about the same price. They started charging when the left their office in Urbandale and had to come out to Waukee. We were renting while our house was built, so our move had two stops - one at the rental condo and then another at our friends house where we were storing everything. Plus we tipped the two guys (which I didn't even think of) and we bought pizza for ourselves and our friend that was helping and we shared with the two guys.
I would use them again in a heartbeat - they were friendly, very careful with our stuff and our new home and it was MUCH easier than trying to line up friends and rent a Uhaul.
