cd moms: ammonia build up / rash

I think we have ammonia build up on our diapers and Evie has a nice rash for it. We thought it was yeast, but the more I look at it, and where it is, I think it is more ammonia buildup

I have bleached all our diapers and heavily rinsed them all (thinking it was yeast). Should I strip now too after the bleaching? The diapers are working great and not leaking.

I use rockin green soft rock for our soft water.

We are using a cream till it gets better, hopefully the clean diapers will help her recover quickly. Any other ideas on what I can use for her? Want warm weather so i can let her run around naked.

Re: cd moms: ammonia build up / rash

  • If you find an answer, let me know. Alex is in disposables at night because our night time diapers are causing burns on her by morning. I've tried cleaning them every way I know, and it's still there. She is "this close" to being potty trained, so I just gave up with them for now.
  • How can I tell the difference between a yeast rash and a rash from ammonia build up? Ellie has had quite a few yeast rashes, but I wonder if it's ammonia some of the time?
