I might be alone in this, but I cannot stand facebook posts that say things like:
12 years ago today, I gave birth/married the most wonderful baby girl/man in the world. He/she fills my life with laughter and joy. I can't believe it has been so many years since the most important day of my life. My little girl is growing up. I look forward to the remaining years/years to come with my daughter/husband. Etc...
It's sweet to remember those days and there's nothing wrong with a "Happy Birthday/ Anniversary Daughter/Husband" on your status, but those are just annoying! Does anybody actually read through the entire post?!
Perhaps I'm just cold and heartless.
end rant.

Re: 12 years ago today...ugh! really?
I guess my tolerance for FB annoyances is pretty low because those type of posts don't bother me. If they are thinking about a special anniversary or event that particular day, then they should feel free to express how they feel and why it's special to them.
I get more annoyed with these type of rambling updates that mark nothing special and tend to happen every single day for some people: "going to the gym" or "long line at the bank today"
That is grounds for me to use the "hide" button.
I'm a hypocrite.
I roll my eyes when I see it on for other people, but I LOVE it when someone close (parents/brother/aunt/uncles) do this for our family. They usually include old photos and it's just a way for us to reminisce and communicate.
I usually don't mind those... unless it's posted by a person who already posts enough about their spouse/child.
I probably post the "I'm so blessed to have a wonderful man in my life" once every couple months, but generally try to avoid mentioning DH in posts.
Agreed. Yesterday was the 1-year anniversary of my Uncle's death and my Aunt (his sister) posted a photo of them from 20+ years ago...
Yeah. I defriended a girl who talked about her son's potty training for 5 weeks straight.

Haha, I JUST defriended someone who mentioned how their daughter is now having more solid poops and she kept posting links to great potty-training techniques and "cool" looking diapers/diaper covers
ewwwwwwwwwww
I think that's sweet for sure! I love old pictures that make their way to the world wide web!
Anything else is fine, I just see so many "X years ago [this happened]".
