rec a cute gym bag with waterproof lining? preferably backpack

I am in need of something to take to the gym- mostly i just have my ipad, wallet, keys phone etc but I would like to get back into swimming to I think something w/ a waterproof lining that could hold a towel as well might be a good idea. I'd love a backpack b/c sometimes I take 2 toddlers with me...

any recs? I'm overwhelmed by etsy & can't seem to narrow it down & don't want to miss something good. Other brands/stores welcome also!

Thx.

  • I love lululemon gym bags.  Most of them have a special zipper compartment for wet stuff.

  • I have a bag from Lulu Lemon and even though it was $135, it was SO WORTH THE MONEY. I swim 3-4x a week so something waterproof was an absolute must for me. It's the Destined For Greatness Duffel, though I did note that they have a backpack that you might like too, if that's what you're looking for.

This bag is big enough to hold a large bath sheet, 2-3 swimsuits, 4 pairs of goggles, 3 swim caps, flip flops, and toiletries (this is what is in my bag right now). Plus room to spare. I love it.

I swim because I'm too damned sexy for a sport that requires real clothing.
  • Get a speedo bag.  I have this one:

The strap is long enough that you can wear it diagonally, it holds a TON for a small bag (I normally carry two towels, a change of clothes, a hair dryer, and my shower stuff, but I've fit a lot more than that for races), and it's inexpensive and sturdy.  It fit great in a locker and has a waterproof bottom, too.  My last speedo bag lasted 8+ years and I'm at the pool or racing 3-6x per week.  Sometimes more than that.

If you want a backpack, when I was a coach, I had several swimmers with this:

And they all seemed to love it.

My speedo-related advice.  Their large bags are LARGE.  So if you're just using it casually and not to carry 3,000 things, get their small or medium bags.  The large ones do not fit into a locker easily.

I have a friend who has this one and she loves it. LOL I haven't had the giant Speedo bag since school, and we had to haul fins, buoys, and paddles in there too. Such a PITA.

Thanks...I like this but don't want huge either b/c of the lockers...I have to figure out what this pool has available, I would likely not bring anything more than a buoy, I haven't swum in years so fins & paddles are not in my repertoire these days LOL & I would assume the pool has kickboards...so it would be towel & suit and a few other things... This might be harder than I think!

This is their small backpack.  They have a MUCH bigger one too, which might be what roar is referring to.  I don't think this one would fit a full-size kickboard.  The one I linked will fit in a locker, although the large speedo backpack won't.  I'll repost the link, which has dimensions:
