Need life insurance recommendations

Can anyone recommend an insurance company or an agent?  I have a basic life insurance policy through my employer but my husband does not.  TIA

Re: Need life insurance recommendations

  • We just got ours through our State Farm agent, didn't have any problems at all, and we pay like 20 and 25 per month for it.  We're looking into their new program where its a 30 term policy and after 30 years they just pay you the premiums back.
  • Most auto/home companies have life policies also.  You can take advantage of multiple policy discounts. I would look into an individual policy for yourself too. I know you said you have one through your job but is it transferable if you leave?

Ten yrs I ago I had a company one but learned the hard way once I left I had nothing. I had to start over and pay higher rates since I was older.

  • Tim Whitcomb in Shakopee (Farmer's) is a fantastic insurance agent for everything. He was a friend of my dad's, so we started using him and he's so fantastic that now everyone on both sides of my family (mom and dad) have since switched to him for everything, home, auto, life.

    Google "Tim Whitcomb, Farmers"

  • I'd go to an independent agent.  Many times policies through your property & casualty/car insurance person is at a much higher premium than if you go a separate policy.  Our policies are through ING Reliastar and Cincinnati Life.  I had a better rating at ING and my husband at Cincinnati.  If we went through our car insurance person, we would only have one company to choose from.
  • We have ours through USAA. The rest of our insurance policies (cars, homes, umbrella policy) are through Liberty Mutual, but LM didn't have the best rates for the life insurance so we went through USAA. Customer service has been awesome, we're looking into switching to USAA for everything.
