Favorite side dishes with ham?

I am hungry for Ham and planning to make one this weekend... I want to do something new for side dishes. We also do potatoes either regular or cheesy and corn. I really want some new sides.

What are your favorites with ham?

Mashed potatoes (sort of) but using 1/2 sweet potatoes and 1/2 yukon gold then mashed all together with butter and a bit of nutmeg and cream.  Yum

Mmmmm...mashed potatoes and green beans or potato salad and baked beans (usually depends on whether we're having it in the winter or summer).  And good rolls.

MIL serves her holiday ham with the typical sides plus a corn casserole and spinach gratin.  They might help you change it up from potatoes.

Now I want ham.

I think green beans are the best veggie to go with ham. I like fruit salad on the side too. My mom makes one with a cooked pineapple juice sauce that is to die for. It's similar to this:  http://allrecipes.com/recipe/cooked-fruit-salad-dressing/. I don't think hers has egg though. She makes the fruit salad with apples, mandarin oranges, pineapple, and bananas.

I made this for Easter last year and we really enjoyed it.  It's super unhealthy but oh so good!

Green beans were my first thought.

Also, collard greens, white rice, roasted potatoes, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese.

Also, love coleslaw with it too!

Scalloped potatoes and green beans. Often I'll just cook them right in the pan with the ham, so they absorb all the yummy juices!

Not exactly a side, but I love homemade apple butter with ham!
