They're fancy rice krispy treats, where melted butterscotch chips and peanut butter are the glue that holds the cereal together, and there's a layer of chocolate in the middle. I didn't have enough butterscotch chips, so I added some corn syrup and butter to help make up the difference. But either that wasn't an acceptable substitute or I didn't add enough, because the cereal layer is crumbly and doesn't hold together very well. Ugh. Why, oh why, didn't I just buy more butterscotch chips?! Or, it occurred to me too late, it would have been super simple to just not add all the cereal.
There's no magical solution here, right? I'm stuck with this big pan of crumbly bars?
Re: I messed up rice krispy treats.
Yeah, see, I don't just sabotage other people - I do it to myself too!

That's a good idea. I'm crossing my fingers that if I'm really careful cutting them, I'll get some whole bars that I can give away. But I'm expecting a huge amount of crumbs, and putting them in cookies is a great idea.

Use them as a topping on this!
