Prayers and good thoughts please

Today has been tough for me. We found out a few weeks ago my aunt has pancreatic cancer. They told her she was operable and she went in for her surgery this morning. When they opened her up they found the cancer had spread to the back of her liver. Basically closed her right back up and told her family she has up to a year to live. We are a close family and all devastated. Her one daughter lives in Australia and is due with her third child in 7 weeks and cannot even fly home. Please spare any good thoughts and prayers for her and our family. If anyone knows of any alternative treatments please let me know and I will pass it along.

Also, the school shooting today is my home area. We live about 10 miles from where it happened. Please pray for those affected by this horrific tragedy and all those involved.

My BIL's mother passed away in April from Pancreatic cancer, it is a terrible disease. I know she was treated at MD Anderson and in The Woodlands she had a couple procedures done but cannot remember which ones. I have her caring bridge site that was set up that had all the procedures etc if you would like the link my thoughts are with you and your family as well

We lost rrr's mom to pancreatic cancer not long after we were married. She was diagnosed just weeks before the wedding. The scenario was very similar in that they just closed her back up. It was made worse by the fact that she could have had to exploratory surgery earlier but there was back-up with the doctor and they were waiting for something else to clear up that, in the end, was not really an issue.

You are lucky, however, with the 1 year prognosis. J was given 4-6 months, although she did end up closer to 9.
