my FIL passed away from colon cancer. It sucks for DH because his birthday is tomorrow. It's sort of a shadow over that. We still miss you, T. Cheers!

Aw, thanks. I like it a lot. We danced together because my dad had already passed away by then.

Kinda makes you want to make his birthday extra special, doesn't it? (Reminds me of some co-workers of mine who got married. The groom's father had a heart attack at their wedding reception and passed away that night. So awful.) Enough with the morbid. Hope you guys have fun celebrating his birthday.

Yeah, it makes me want to but it makes him not want to do anything for it really. That and the fact that he still can't be out of bed much. DH has a cousin who married a woman whose grandfather died while dancing with her at her wedding. Isn't that awful? It's not uncommon for people to die on a day that should be a celebration. My mom's dad died on Thanksgiving and that's always been a hard holiday for her. She was in her 20's when he died of cancer, like I was/my dad did.

Actually it's a funny story why we're smiling so big/laughing. FIL had rented a tux and the pants I guess were too big. When we were dancing he suddenly said, "my pants are falling down." I guess he'd been struggling to keep them up all day! My SIL said she had to tell him at one point to pull them up because he hadn't noticed they'd fallen.
