Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Dear DH,
Please stop F*ing around with our wireless Internet and just call someone who actually knows what they are doing. We are trying to set up a more secure network because we believe our neighbor hacked into ours and ordered a bunch of porn.
Signed,
Your wife, who has no patience for your stupidity

Dear furnace,
I don't know if our thermostat is on the fritz, or the contractors somehow messed you up while adding heat to the basement yesterday, but I'd really appreciate it if you started working again. It was cold last night!
SIgned,
Freezing.
Dear daycare teachers,
Please learn how to spell. I cringe when I get daily reports that say DS ate his "rasins" or "raisens" that day, or that he had oatmeal for "breckfast."
Signed,
love everything ELSE about you
Dear USAirways,
Thanks for closing the door for DH's connecting flight 10 minutes early last night, stranding him and several other passengers in Charlotte for the night. Yes, their first flight was delayed a bit and it was a short connection, but you could have waited a couple minutes more. I can't even count the number of times I've been on flights delayed so that someone can make their connection. At least you provided hotel rooms for the night, even if it was a crappy hotel. Check your passenger manifest against the arrivals board.

Dear weathermen,
I know it's been an unusually mild winter, but do we really need a winter storm warning and hype about the snopocalypse every time we are expecting an inch of snow that most of the time never materializes?

OK, for real...what is this about? It happens to us, too, and it drives me insane. At least these aren't the teachers who will be teaching her to read and write but still...
OMG! That's awful!
You have no idea how much better I feel that you are going through the same thing. Poor spelling/grammar is a huge pet peeve of mine, and DH is a horrible speller. DS doesn't need any more bad influences! I'm definitely thankful they won't be teaching him to read/write.
I also griped a few weeks ago about how the daily report has a section called "Item's needed" where they write down when they are low on wipes, sunscreen, extra clothes, etc.
We are both writers/editors so it's especially grating. We mentally edit our church bulletin, for crying out loud. I get that they might be rushed when they write (at least I hope that's the reason) but it still irks us that these are the people responsible for teaching children - even if they aren't the ones who do reading/writing, they still do letters/numbers and other things.
Glad it's not only happening here in Wisco. It's eye-roll worthy.
Dear someone,
Hire my DH please. He's super smart, a hard worker and great guy. PLease someone give him a job.
Love,
DW who is ready to move on with her life already

Dear Co-worker,
Could you please stop treating me like you are my boss? Just because you considerably older than me does not mean that I am your employee. Back off.
Dear DH,
We own two dogs, and last time I checked you were responsible for both of them just as much as I am. I know we're going through a rough sick patch, but I'm tired of cleaning up dog puke several times a day while you sit there and complain about it happening (and eye roll me when I decide to crate them for the day). Stop complaining and help clean it up.
Love,
Your wife who is tired of taking on full responsibilities for dogs by herself
Dear Immune System,
Did you go on vacation or something? Getting sick like this twice in a row is no fun for me. Please come back and start protecting me from bacteria and viruses.
Signed,
Miserably Sick
Dear computer,
Please work. I'm tired of you not saving my documents and not recognizing my mouse. Let me do my work (and Nest) for a change.
Thanks,
Disgruntled computer user
Wow. As someone who used to work in a daycare, this is upsetting to me. Proper spelling is important. Sure, centers get busy, but really. They need to work on their spelling- what an embarrassment.
I've got another one...
Dear daycare,
Please learn how to spell DD's last name correctly. It's only 5 letters and is a common last name. Her full name is listed everywhere, including on the outside of her backpack and jackets. It's not cool when you misspell it on all her forms.
Thanks,
Concerned mother
Dear HUGE-Zit-on-my-Nose,
Please go away.
(Unless you happen to be an early, early sign of pregnancy... in that case, you can stick around as long as you want....)
Thanks,
chia
Dear immune system,
Please wake the hell up. I've had a cold/sinus infection for 2 weeks now, and I don't have the energy to cook or clean around the house lately. Boo.

Dear $230 bridesmaid dress,
Thank you SO MUCH for actually fitting me so I don't have to pay for alterations on top of your cost. Our bank account thanks you. Wish you came with free shoes though

Dear body,
While I do appreciate the physical aspect of not having a period (and the mood swings, cramps and migraines that go with it) these last 2 cycles are verging on ridiculous. I'm not in the most convenient place to see a doctor. Day 56 and I'm starting to get pissed. It's been almost a year since I went off of BC I thought things would start to get more normal by now, not less.
Signed,
Never should have used the nuvaring
Dear cats:
For the love of god, stop fighting. You have lived together for almost 4 yrs and now, you decide it is a good time to fight?!?! Also, doing this at 3 am is not cool, not cool at all.
-your loving mom who may send you the shelter b/c of this (I am joking!)
