Zombies Run! app

I think I heard about it here first - the Zombies Run app for the iPhone?  It finally came out yesterday, and I love it.  It is a little pricey - I think around eight bucks - but it is worth every penny, and I say that as someone who is generally a cheapskate.

The premise is that zombies are everywhere, and you have been in a helicopter crash while trying to deliver supplies to an area.  You have to run to safety at a local township, where you become a runner who goes out and gets supplies, protects the city, etc.  The app works like Run Keeper in that you basically just run and the bits of the story come through over the headphones, in between music from your playlist.  Along the way you automatically pick up items that you will use later in the app.

It was a really fun way to get some speedwork in - every so often you'll be told to pick up the pace because you are being chased.  There's a GPS component which I suspect makes the game really awesome but so far I've only tried it on the treadmill.  Still fun that way.

Anyway, there's my review.  I love it and I can't wait to run again today.
