I certainly haven't minded the mild winter weather we've had but with the recent rain, it's making for a doozy of a mosquito onslaught. At soccer last night, there were "clouds" of them, and this morning I'm seeing hundreds around our screened patio (Note to DH: leaving the patio door open for the dog defeats the purpose of the screens!)
The mosquitoes are bad enough, but we're also still getting a lot of those annoying Crane flies (a.k.a. skeeter-eater, mosquito hawks). I could live with those clumsy things if they actually did EAT mosquitoes, but instead they just find their way inside, flop around, and (if not caught and removed) die in corners of the house. Blecccchhh.
I don't like cold, but we could use a cold snap!
Re: Mosquitoes!!!
I've never heard of this before - is it a general pesticide thing or just for mosquitoes? Does it spray a mist "barrier" around the outside of your home? Interesting...
It's a tube and nozzel string mounted to the facia boards with little brackets. You can pick what kind of spray you want. Some repell and others kill. It's for mosquitos, we time it for dusk and dawn to specifically aim for them, but it will kill other bugs too. The one we use is a flower extract 100% kid and pet safe. It's probably not the highest kill thing we could use, but it works for us.
That is very cool. Thanks!
I need this.
Those giant mosquito hawks are driving me crazy. And of course the regular biting ones are worse. It's going to be a long summer.
