So I fractured my foot...
Man, the weirdest stuff happens to me.
Apparently 4 weeks ago during one of my first late night feedings with Zach, I walked into the rocking chair HARD. It hurt pretty badly to walk on, it was very swollen and bruised, and man...wearing shoes HASN'T been fun. I finally went to see a doctor today because it wasn't getting any better. And yup, it's fractured. Well...heh. It's trying to heal and it caused a very boney lump to form on top of my foot, so I'm supposed to go and see a podiatrist now.
And get this...I'm supposed to walk around on crutches for awhile. How am I supposed to do that with a newborn? Sheesh. Oh well.
Re: So I fractured my foot...
Crutches with a newborn???!!! Is the doctor serious?? Not possible!!! Did he even suggest a walking boot?
I'm assuming it was a metatarsal (the long bones in the foot). Which one was it? The one on the side of the big toe? I would think if you have been weightbearing for 4 weeks, that you would be able to wear a boot. (not a great thing, but at least better than trying crutches).
Good luck Steph.
Actually, he didn't offer a boot, and I didn't think about it. It was the long big on the very top of my foot. My foot is still just as swollen as when I was pregnant, it's THAT bad!
Yeah, I kinda laughed when he said I needed to stay off of it and not walk around. Ummm....you sorta have to do that with a baby
