Hi H&F!!!! I've missed you! I need to get back into posting here. I've been around, but quiet lately.
What event are you training for/date?
DC RnR marathon, March 17th
What does your training schedule look like for the week?
7,6,7,20, then start tapering
Any injuries or problems?
Nothing in particular. However, I spent a good chunk of the day with my friend on Sunday, including her making me try her tea, and then she got very, very sick with a stomach bug yesterday. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I stay healthy. I was sick for my last marathon and I'd rather not deal with that again.
Highlights from last week?
None. Things have been going fairly cr@ppily. Not bad enough to change the race plan, but just bad enough that I'm frustrated. I haven't had a good run in WEEKS.
Put yourself in the spotlight. Tell us about one of your biggest accomplishments, HFR or NHFR.
Hmm... maybe when I was preparing for my first marathon, which was the 2010 Adirondack marathon and is EXTREMELY hilly. For my 20 miler, my friend and I went up and ran the first half of the course as an out and back route, so we did the hilliest part of the course twice and it was awesome. It was twice as hard as what I would run on race day and I kicked butt.
Name something you've learned recently (again, HFR or not).
I am not good (terrible, actually) at sticking to training plans. Must work on this.

Put yourself in the spotlight. Tell us about one of your biggest accomplishments, HFR or NHFR. I have 2 that I think are related. Finishing my PhD and finishing my first marathon, which both use the same set of skills (set goals, work hard, persist in the face of pain, try again if you don't get it right the first time, and celebrate when you meet your goals).
Name something you've learned recently (again, HFR or not). Sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and inwardly laugh than to say something that will start an argument. Especially if you are dealing with someone who is always right and absolutely cannot admit to being wrong.

Put yourself in the spotlight. Tell us about one of your biggest accomplishments, HFR or NHFR - I don't know if this is an accomplishment per se, but it was something cool that I got to do. I used to work in the sports department at a local tv station, and I got to go to a MNF game in Pittsburgh where they were playing the Packers. I actually got to film on the field during the game and go in the Steelers lockeroom afterwards. It was pretty cool

That's not lame, but then again I'm right there with you on the nerd train
I know so little about SAS that it isn't funny. But then again, that's my field. Psychology tends to use SPSS more, while statistics/public health/epidemiology tend to use SAS more.
